Open-source credits
Zydra is built on these open-source projects. Thank you to their authors.
In every workspace
- terminal-browser by Zenbu Labs, MIT. The browser that runs in your terminal, built on Electron and Chromium. Zydra ships a patched fork with two changes of its own: it redraws whole frames, and it keeps a browser profile per workspace. Its license is below.
- terminal-code by Zenbu Labs, MIT. VS Code in your terminal, as the
todecommand. Its license is below. - code-server by Coder, MIT. The VS Code that terminal-code shows, version 4.132.0.
- Electron, MIT, and Chromium, BSD-3-Clause. They run terminal-browser.
- WebKit, BSD-2-Clause and LGPL-2.1, in its WPE port with WPEBackend-fdo, BSD-2-Clause. The browser in your desktop's tiles, built from source with Zydra's patches.
- Playwright by Microsoft, Apache-2.0. Drives that browser, and lets agents open pages and take screenshots.
- Mesa, MIT. The workspace's graphics drivers.
- Chocolate Doom, GPL-2.0-or-later, playing Freedoom Phase 1, BSD-3-Clause. The Doom in the launcher.
- NixOS and Nixpkgs, MIT. The workspace's operating system and almost every package in it.
- Linux, GPL-2.0-only. The kernel of every workspace and of our host.
On our host
- Smithay, MIT. Zydra's desktop compositor is built with it.
- crosvm, BSD-3-Clause. Runs each workspace in its own virtual machine.
- NixOS, MIT. The host's operating system.
While a workspace starts
- The T-Rex game from Chromium, BSD-3-Clause. Its sprites and its game logic, ported to the terminal, at Chromium 118.0.5993.70.
